Hahndorf Hill\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>Winery Landmark Tasting at Savour Australia 2013<\/p>\n This September brought the huge \u00e2\u20ac\u201c and hugely successful – Savour Australia 2013 road show to Adelaide. The Convention Centre on the banks of the Torrens River was studded with a veritable \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcwho\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 of the local and international wine industry, with all participants in gushing agreement as to the triumph of this well and tightly run celebration.<\/p>\n Embedded within the event were the prestigious Landmark Australia Tastings which are designed to showcase wines that exemplify ‘Australia’s ultimate wine offering.’ The aim is to show the wine world the rich diversity, history and quality of Australian wine with the focus being on the best examples of current styles and significant historic perspectives \u00e2\u20ac\u201c a reflection of Australia’s ultra-premium collectables that are known and respected around the world.<\/p>\n These Landmark Tastings were hosted by some of Australia’s wine industry luminaries including wine educator and Savour Australia 2013 MC, Jeremy Oliver; wine critic, James Halliday; sommelier, Kim Bickley; wine writer, Tyson Stelzer; and wine writer\/wine judge, Mike Bennie.<\/p>\n Hahndorf Hill was honoured by having our HHW \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcGRU\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Gruner Veltliner 2012 being selected for the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcMinimalists\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 category of the Landmark Tasting which was held at Press Food & Wine and moderated by Mike Bennie.<\/p>\n An exciting range of wines were presented in three flights and the following two wines were amongst my favourites:<\/p>\n 2012 Hochkirch Riesling, Henty, Victoria.<\/strong> Beautifully delicate showing citrus streaked with hints of stone fruit and spice and an intense, magical mineral quality.
